Johari Window:
The Johari window is a technique created in 1955 by two American psychologists, Joseph Luft (1916–2014) and Harrington Ingham (1914–1995),[1] used to help people better understand their relationship with self and others. It is used primarily in self-help groups and corporate settings as a heuristic exercise.
When performing the exercise, subjects are given a list of 55 adjectives and pick five or six that they feel describe their own personality. Peers of the subject are then given the same list, and each pick five or six adjectives that describe the subject. These adjectives are then mapped onto a grid.[2]
The philosopher Charles Handy calls this concept the Johari House with four rooms. Room 1 is the part of ourselves that we see and others see. Room 2 is the aspects that others see but we are not aware of. Room 4 is the most mysterious room in that the unconscious or subconscious part of us is seen by neither ourselves nor others. Room 3 is our private space, which we know but keep from others.

Write a response about what you thought based on the results that you received from your assessment of yourself and others who know you. Do you agree with the assessment? Why or why not? Are you the person that you advertise yourself to be? Why or why not?
The results that I received was basically telling me that people don't know me to well. I do agree with the assessment and I say this because it could help people know who you really are. I also think I do advertise myself to the person I want to be , but I have a lot of developing to do and i have a lot to learn about myself.

ReplyDeleteAt the end of this test it was saying that people don't know me that well. I agree with this because the human mind is very complicated. You think you know someone and than you really don't. But I have a lot to learn about myself in my life time that I don't even know yet.
ReplyDeleteTest said that people doesn't know me and I agree.
ReplyDeleteThe test basically said that people don't really know me for who i am but for what i present to them and i agree. You can have an idea about somebody but there actually the total and complete opposite. Because what there showing to the world and what they really are , are two completely different people. But i have more things to learn about my self because as life goes on things change.
ReplyDeleteResults said people don't know who I am they know what I show them.

ReplyDeleteI think the test showed me that your thoughts on your self maybe different from others but some people do see you for you sometimes ,Mine wasn't really a surprise but I agree with the assignment because it gives you a different outlook on yourself
ReplyDeleteAlthough, in the beginning of reading of reading the assignment i was totally confused on what was being instructed for me to do. I believe I slightly understand. based on the result I received from the assessment of myself and others who know me, I agree with the assessment because when I selected the six words I would use to describe myself. The test described every word I didn't pick. I think instead of picking the words of how I act when around some people who I'm comfortable and familiar with. I picked the words of how I portray my self as when I'm around strangers.I advertise my self as an introverted person and I believe this is slightly true but when I'm around my family and friends I seem to act like a totally different person, I become extroverted. I conform to societies expectations when around strangers and rebel when I'm around familiar people I feel comfortable interacting with.
ReplyDeleteMy results showed that people don't know me too well. I agree with these results because I feel that I don't even know my true self, how can others?
ReplyDeleteMy results showed that I am energetic and caring and I agree.
